IADLs

Instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) are those activities that allow an individual to live independently in a community. These activities are not essential for daily functioning in the way that ADLs are, but they do help a person to remain independent and maintain a higher quality of life.

Saving Families offers one on one assistance with a variety of essential activities. Our professional caregivers will work with you and encourage you to maintain your personal highest level of independence while providing you with reliable support when you need it.

IADLs or In-Home Care Services Provided:

  • Companionship and conversation

  • Medication and appointment reminders

  • Planning and preparing healthy meals

  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and ironing

  • Meeting transportation needs

  • Managing and paying bills

  • Assisting with pet care

  • Visiting neighbors and friends

  • Changing linens and making beds

  • Picking up prescriptions

  • Grocery and general shopping

  • Communicating in person, through telephone, or computer

  • And more…

The aging process, cognitive decline, or physical limitations due to chronic conditions are the primary reason why an individual needs help with IADLs. This is also a primary cause why some move to a facility before they are ready. Having the right support at home makes a difference.

ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)

ADLs are fundamental daily life tasks. They lend themselves to safety, hygiene, health, and independence. The aging process or an illness can make it difficult for individuals to perform certain basic activities and continue to live independently.

Saving Families develops an individualized care plan for each client that offers this personal level of support in daily life. When your goal is to remain at home and avoid assisted living, nursing homes, or other care facilities, our care plan can help you to accomplish this.

Our Services in ADLs Category Include:

  • Personal Care Assistance

  • Bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, hair care, and shaving

  • Medication management and reminders

  • Assisting with walking, mobility, and transfers

  • Medication management and reminders

Our personal care scheduling is very flexible to fit in with the client's routines. Our caregivers are available hourly or around the clock to assist you or your loved one with activities at home. This means the family knows their loved ones are always supported in continuing to live independently.
